Warranty and Returns Policy

We do not accept returns or give refunds for items that do not fit your vehicle.

An exchange, return or refund is only considered if JDM Engine Bay Inc. posted incorrect Japanese specifications for the item by mistake. See the disclaimers below for details.

• Shipping and transportation charges are non-refundable.
• You are welcome to pick up your item locally at our warehouse.
• Inspect the outer packaging before you sign the freight release. Write any visible damage on the release form. If damage is not noted, the freight company is released from responsibility.
• Shipping insurance is provided by the freight company, not by JDM Engine Bay Inc.
• JDM Engine Bay Inc. is not responsible for damage caused by mishandling during shipping.
• Every engine passes a multi-point inspection and compression test. Only engines with positive compression results are shipped.

• Internal engine parts: pistons, rings, pins, crankshaft and bearings, connecting rods, camshaft, timing chain and gears, valves, springs, seals, guides, oil pump, push rods, and rocker arms and shafts.
• The engine block, cylinder walls and cylinder head are warranted to be free of cracks or distortion.
• Head gaskets are covered for 30 days only, regardless of the duration listed in section A.
• At its discretion, JDM Engine Bay Inc. may repair the engine with rebuilt or serviceable used parts, or exchange the engine.

External parts are not covered, including manifolds, carburetors, distributor, starter, emission devices, flywheel, clutch, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, oil pan, valve cover, sensors, electronics, transmissions, drive shafts, engine mounts and half shafts.

1. Labor to remove and install a repaired or exchanged engine.
2. Damage from abuse, neglect, accident or natural perils.
3. Loss caused by improper installation.
4. Towing, freight or delivery charges.
5. Overheating damage, including oil leaks and blown head gaskets caused by poor water circulation, a clogged radiator, a stuck thermostat or a faulty water pump.
6. Decline in performance from normal wear, unless a breakdown occurs.
7. Loss caused by modifications the engine was not designed for (for example turbo, supercharger, nitrous or aftermarket ECU).
8. Engines used for competitive driving or racing.
9. Failure of parts not covered by this warranty.
10. Tune-ups, adjustments, filters, hoses, belts, lubricants, coolants, emission devices, spark plugs and tune-up parts.
11. Deterioration or pre-ignition damage.
12. Repairs made without prior authorization from JDM Engine Bay Inc.
13. Loss caused by a defective timing belt. A new timing belt should be installed.
14. Loss caused by forced induction (NOS, turbo, supercharger) the engine was not designed for at the factory.

Repairs or exchanges made under this warranty do not extend the original warranty period.

This limited warranty replaces all other express warranties. Any implied warranties are limited to the duration of this warranty. No one is authorized to assume any other obligation on behalf of JDM Engine Bay Inc.

JDM Engine Bay Inc. is not liable for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience or commercial loss.

1. Start your claim by contacting us.
2. You pay the freight to return a defective engine. A replacement ships only after our staff inspect the returned engine. If it is defective, we refund your shipping and send a replacement. If it is not defective, you pay the return shipping.
3. Return the engine in the same condition we sent it. Missing parts will be charged to you.
4. If the wrong or defective engine is not returned within 60 days of the replacement shipping, you will be charged the full engine price plus freight.

• Engines supplied with accessories may not meet your local emission laws. Emission devices may need to be transferred from your old engine.
• Accessories are attached for testing only and are free of charge. The price covers the long block only (cylinder head and short block).

• All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• Orders that have not shipped can be cancelled.
• Cancelled orders paid by check are charged a $25.00 fee.
• Refused or returned orders are charged a 20% restocking fee on the invoice amount, plus return freight.

• Used engines typically have 20,000–60,000 miles depending on the model year. They are not new.
• Small scratches are normal. Fragile plastic, metal or rubber parts may bend or break during shipping; replacements can be taken from your original engine or a local used parts store.
• Our sourcing agents in Japan select low-mileage vehicles in the best available condition. Compression test results are available on request.
